I was recently chatting with my friend, Carrie Madrid, President and Founder of The Care Project, an organization dedicated and focused on helping breast cancer survivors. During our time together, she gave me this Jewel of Wisdom that I had to share with you all. So many times, people going through cancer, are told some horrific things by the most well-intentioned people, and they don’t always know how to respond because they are either flabbergasted, or their jaw hit the floor, or they are just left speechless. Next time this happens to you, instead of stumbling on your words, or losing your cool, try Carrie’s response: “That isn’t helpful, but thank you for your concern.” It’s polite. It gets the point across. It allows us to move forward.
Hope you find this helpful. As always, I’m here for you. If you’d like to talk or ask me specific questions, please click HERE and select a day and time that works best for your schedule 🙂
